Nytt läge i Europadebatten efter den ekonomiska krisen
För varje regering och varje medlemsstat har det blivit uppenbart att finanskrisens lösningar inte fanns i någon enskild huvudstad utan enbart i ett gemensamt agerande. Enskilda åtgärder betydde inte något när krisen svepte över gränser in i en gemensam ekonomi. Och om vi nu inte förmår att reformera europeisk ekonomi finns ingen förutsättning för ett europeiskt företagande som kan konkurrera med en dynamiskt växande omvärld. Gemensamma beslut krävs, inte bara för att så mycket av våra regler och lagar är desamma – lösningen på de stora utmaningarna kräver gemensamma beslut. För den europeiska ekonomin innebär det EU.
