Hur trohet mot ”den värdegrund som gäller” skulle kunna påverka svaret på en vetenskaplig forskningsfråga är svårt att inse. Finns det verkligen svar som är förbjudna som stridande mot värdegrunden hur vetenskapligt säkra de än må vara? På vem ankommer det att utfärda och övervaka sådana förbud? Pandemin prövar sammanhållningen och tilliten. Den 16 mars hölls en extrainsatt riksdagsdebatt om gränshinder i Norden och särskilt situationen i gränsregionerna. Nyligen röstade riksdagen för EU:s långtidsbudget och återhämtningsfond. Det är illa nog att överenskommelsen går på tvärs med svenska intressen, fördubblar EU:s utgifter, leder till kraftigt ökad svensk avgift, ger EU rätt att emittera skuld samt öppnar för beskattningsrätt. Till detta kan lägga ytterligare ett avgörande problem: att rättsstatens principer undermineras av detta avtal, skriver Charlie Weimers.
En av de svåraste frågorna jag fick av mina vänner runt om i Europa var hur det kunde bli en socialdemokratisk regering efter 2014, trots att det fanns majoritet för en borgerlig. Att förklara på engelska eller tyska att några borgerliga partier föredrog en socialdemokratisk regering framför att de själva skulle regera var inte helt lätt. Katastrofforskning har länge visat att det inledningsvis efter en katastrof uppstår en ökad solidaritet i samhället. Tidigare konflikter skjuts i bakgrunden och samhället brukar präglas av att människor hjälper varandra. Men efter en period falnar sammanhållningen och gamla konflikter föds på nytt och återuppstår, skriver Örjan Hultåker.
